Canaan – The Mascoma Valley Health Initiative (MVHI) is pleased to announce the election of two new members to its Board of Directors.

At MVHI’s Annual Meeting on January 19th, the Board unanimously elected Mardee Laumann and Sally Jaeger, each to serve a three-year term.

Ms. Laumann spent 35 years at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Mascoma Pediatric Clinic, serving at least two generations of Mascoma Valley families. She concurrently worked for 25 years with the Vermont New Hampshire Visiting Nurses Association running groups, conducting home visits, and serving as a home visiting consultant. She was also involved in bringing school based dental clinics and suicide prevention to the Mascoma Valley Regional School District. Ms. Laumann served on the MVHI Board of Directors from its inception in 2001 through 2009. She is a resident of Enfield.

Ms. Jaeger has lived in the Upper Valley off and on for the past 25 years. She is in her 19th year at the Tuck School of Business, where she served as director of admissions and is currently an assistant dean and director of the MBA Program. Ms. Jaeger has been actively involved for a number of years in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life (RFL), helping to join Dartmouth College, Hanover, and Lebanon’s RFL efforts into one major event. She lives in Orange.

Ms. Laumann and Ms. Jaeger fill the seats held by two departing Board members: Enfield resident and Chief of Police Richard A. Crate, Jr., and Orange resident Julie Hammond. MVHI’s staff and Board of Directors are grateful to Chief Crate and Ms. Hammond for their service and support.

Officers to the Board of Directors were elected at the Annual Meeting, as follows:

• Dr. William Boyle to serve a third one-year term as Chair

• Nancy DuMont to serve a third one-year term as Vice-Chair

• Betty Ann Trought to serve a second term as Secretary

• Steve Darrow to serve a third term as Treasurer.
